Well, the 100th season of the NFL season is unfortunately over and the next meaningful football game will not be played until September. Unless you’re a diehard XFL fan.
Super Bowl 54 ended last night as the Chiefs had another come from behind win this postseason and captured their first championship since 1970.
The real question here is, Kyle Shanahan, what are you thinking, again!?
If you follow football closely, you probably know that Shanahan was the offensive coordinator for the Falcons in 2016.
Just as a reminder, the Falcons blew a 28-3 lead against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 51 and lost in overtime. Since his Falcons took that lead…
Let’s be justifiable though, Shanahan is not the only one to blame here. His play calls and decision yes, are questionable, but once again, his players fell asleep at the wheel.
We shouldn’t just blame the 49ers though, we should say congrats to the Chiefs. In all three of their playoff games, they had trailed by 10 or more points at one time. The Chiefs finished their historic season 5-0 when trailing by 10+ points.
Being a Packer fan, it was fun watching the 49ers implode, but at the end of the day, my heart goes out to them. Losing a game of this magnitude is never easy and it is going to take awhile for them to recover. I thought they were the better team and I even picked them to win the big game.
There’s no doubt in my mind the 49ers have another great chance to be back in this game next year. The same goes for the Chiefs. New odds came out for next year already and the Chiefs are already the favorite to repeat, which can very much happen.
But for now, enjoy the craziness of the off-season and take a page out of Andy Reid’s book:
