This mock will only be the top 10 picks of the draft. The draft starts a little over a month from now, on April 23. In this mock, the Bengals are officially on the clock…
Pick 1 — Cincinnati Bengals select, Joe Burrow, QB.
This one is a no brainer. Burrow is the best quarterback in the draft and just came off an incredible year that displayed a Heisman trophy and a national champion.
Pick 2 — Washington Redskin select, Chase Young, Edge.
Another no brainer. Young will add to an incredible young group of defensive players that includes Johnathan Allen, Montez Sweat, and Landon Collins. The Redskins can get a quarterback here, but they should hold on to Haskins for a little longer and see if he can develop.
Pick 3 — Detroit Lions select, Jeffery Okudah, CB.
The best corner back in the draft will pair up with defensive minded coach Matt Patricia. The Lions can take Simmons here, but they are looking to get rid of Darius Slay. If Slay goes, Okudah will come in.
Pick 4 — New York Giants select, Tristen Wirfs, OT.
The offensive line has been an issue for the Giants for years. With Eli retired and Daniel Jones the future, they need to protect him.
Pick 5 — Miami Dolphins select, Tua Tagovailoa, QB.
If there areno injury concerns with Tua, him and Burrow would be fighting for the #1 selection. It seems he will be healthy long-term and the Dolphins can get their guy for the future.
Pick 6 — Los Angeles Chargers select, Isaiah Simmons, LB.
With Tua not available for the Chargers to snag, they will beef up their defense and ride Tyrod Taylor for a year. Maybe they even make a splash at the QB position before the draft and go after some no name like Tom Brady.
Pick 7 — Carolina Panthers select, CeeDee Lamb, WR.
It has become clear that new HC Matt Rhule wants to keep Cam Newton. If Newton stays, he can use another weapon to compliment McCaffrey.
Pick 8 — Arizona Cardinals select, Jerry Jeudy, WR.
This WR class is one of the best to ever be produced. Kyler Murray needs another weapon in that Kliff Kingsburry high-flying offense. They will hope for Lamb, but get Jeudy, which is not a problem at all.
Pick 9 — Jacksonville Jaguars select, C.J. Henderson, CB.
Maybe they take Herbert, but that means they dished out $88 million to Nick Foles for no reason. Minshew wasn’t awful either. With Ramsey AND Bouye gone, they should take a corner here.
Pick 10 — Cleveland Browns select, Jedrick Wills, OT.
It is no secret the Browns need offensive line help. The offense has weapons with guys like OBJ, Landry, Chubb, Njoku. Give Mayfield his time, and the Browns offense could be dangerous.
