While everyone is focusing on the coronavirus and the new CBA deal, the Baltimore Ravens are out here making money moves.
They sent a 5th round pick, that they acquired from Minnesota for a kicker, for defensive star Calais Campbell.
Oh yeah, that kicker Baltimore got the 5th for, was cut three weeks later.
Campbell and the Ravens have come to terms on an 2-year extension that pays him $27 million and $20 million of that is guaranteed.
Are we just trying to hand Baltimore the Lombardi Trophy?
They already have a stellar defense with the likes of Judon, Humphrey, Thomas III, Peters, Williams, and Pierce. They now stock up the front 7 and know what they need to focus on for the draft.
They already have the MVP of the league and a stud running back to compliment him. The receiving core — although not big names — played well last year, and they had a breakout star in tight end Mark Andrews.
With the best receiving class in a long time, I can see the Ravens focusing a lot on offense in this draft. A receiver and potentially offensive line — to give Jackson even more time — will be taken with their top two picks.
They already went 14-2 last season, and I can see them easily grabbing that #1 seed again and getting the lone bye in the AFC.
