This is where things in this bracket are going to get crazy. This may be the only “easy” matchup to decide between. The Immaculate Reception will forever be a top moment thats tough to match. That’s why it takes the crown in the AFC North and advances to the Elite 8.
AFC South:
Division Championship Game — (1) Music City Miracle vs. (2) Kelvin Hayden pick 6 against Chicago in Super Bowl XLI.
Winner — Music City Miracle
Was the backwards pass actually thrown behind the line? Was it actually a forward pass? I don’t know, but it was called a legal play and it led to a wild finish in the 1999 AFC Wild Card round. Yet another crushing moment in Bills history. Poor Buffalo.
AFC East:
Division Championship Game — (1) Malcolm Butler interception vs. (3) Wide Right
Winner — Malcolm Butler interception
Well, Bills fans, another forgettable moment in your franchise’s history in this matchup. Don’t worry though, this one does not advance. Butler’s interception in the Super Bowl gets the nod. “Malcolm, GO!” right ahead to the Elite 8.
AFC West:
Division Championship Game — (1) The Helicopter vs. (2) The Tuck Rule
Winner — Tuck Rule
Charles Woodsons hit and cause of the “incomplete pass” on his former Michigan teammate Tom Brady helped jump start the Patriots dynasty. The Pats later went on to win the snowy 2001 Divisional Game vs Oakland and win the Super Bowl that year vs. The Greatest Show on Turf. Thanks a lot Oakland.
